Shutter Speeds Skill Development

Shutter Speeds,

Skills Development

With this skill we learnt that if we speed up the shutter speed to around 1/250 or 1/500, we could freeze motion without blur in mid action, for someone walking or running. We experimented with capturing people doing star jumps, running by, running at the camera, throwing leaves and we attempted to capture some motion blur.

Over all I think my images were sucessful for a first attempt, however some improvement could be had if I were to use this technique for a magazine cover or an addition to an article.

Next time I use this technique I hope to capture my images with more focus, and purhaps more motion blur around the subject. I think in some of the photographs the subject is a bit far from the camera, next time I will change this, so the frame is better. I will also experiment more with other shutter speeds, faster and slower, to see what effect this with have on the final image.
